This policy applies to:

  • All employees, subcontractors, and representatives

  • All domestic and commercial works

  • All operational, administrative, and customer‑facing activities

 

3. Our Quality Commitments

3.1 Customer Satisfaction

  • Provide reliable, professional, and friendly service at every stage

  • Respond promptly to enquiries, callouts, and customer concerns

  • Deliver clear communication, accurate information, and honest advice

  • Ensure all work is completed to industry standards and manufacturer requirements

3.2 Competence & Training

  • Ensure all engineers are fully qualified, competent, and up to date with industry standards

  • Provide ongoing training, including Gas Safe compliance, product training, and safety updates

  • Support staff development to maintain high levels of technical and customer service skills

3.3 Workmanship Standards

  • Complete all installations, repairs, and servicing to the highest professional standard

  • Use approved materials, tools, and equipment

  • Follow manufacturer instructions, British Standards, and regulatory requirements

  • Ensure all work areas are left clean, safe, and tidy

3.4 Compliance & Certification

  • Comply with all relevant UK legislation and industry regulations, including:

    • Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations

    • Building Regulations Part L & G

    • BS 7593 (water treatment)

    • Health & Safety at Work Act

  • Maintain accurate records, certificates, and documentation for all works

3.5 Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor performance through customer feedback, audits, and internal reviews

  • Investigate issues promptly and implement corrective actions

  • Review processes regularly to improve efficiency, safety, and service quality

  • Embrace new technologies and best practices within the heating and plumbing industry

5. Quality Objectives

Heygate Heating Solutions aims to:

  • Maintain a customer satisfaction rate above 95%

  • Reduce callbacks and defects through improved quality control

  • Deliver all projects on time and within agreed specifications

  • Strengthen our reputation as a trusted, high‑quality heating specialist

 

6. Policy Review

We comply with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, all relevant regulations, and industry best practices.

Our objectives:

  • Prevent accidents, injuries, and work‑related ill health

  • Provide safe equipment and safe systems of work

  • Ensure all staff are trained, competent, and supported

2. Responsibilities

2.1 Management Responsibilities

Management will:

  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety legislation

  • Provide safe tools, PPE, and vehicles

  • Maintain risk assessments and method statements (RAMS)

  • Provide training (Gas Safe, manual handling, asbestos awareness, etc.)

  • Investigate accidents and near misses

  • Encourage open reporting of safety concerns

2.2 Employee Responsibilities

Employees must:

  • Take reasonable care of themselves and others

  • Follow all safety procedures and training

  • Use PPE correctly and report defects

  • Report hazards and near misses

  • Cooperate with management

  • Never misuse safety equipment

2.3 Subcontractors

Subcontractors must:

  • Demonstrate competence and qualifications

  • Follow Heygate Heating Solutions’ safety procedures

  • Provide RAMS where required

  • Report hazards or incidents immediately

 

3. Risk Assessment

Risk assessments will be completed for:

  • Gas and heating installations

  • Plumbing repairs

  • Working at height

  • Confined spaces

  • Electrical isolation

  • Manual handling

  • Lone working

  • Power tools and equipment

  • Driving company vehicles

Reviewed annually or when work processes change.

 

4. Safe Systems of Work

Includes:

  • Permit‑to‑work

  • Lock‑out / tag‑out

  • Confined space controls

  • Working at height precautions

  • Hot works procedures

  • COSHH controls

 

5. Training & Competence

Training includes:

  • Gas Safe certification

  • NVQ Level 2/3 Plumbing & Heating

  • Manual handling

  • Asbestos awareness

  • First aid

  • Working at height

  • Electrical safety

  • Fire safety

  • IPAF

  • PASSMA

Records maintained and reviewed regularly.

 

6. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Provided PPE:

  • Safety boots

  • Gloves

  • Eye protection

  • Hi‑vis clothing

  • Respiratory protection (as required)

  • Hearing protection (as required)

Employees must report defects immediately.

 

7. Tools, Equipment & Vehicles

We ensure:

  • Tools and equipment are maintained

  • PAT testing is completed where required

  • Vehicles are serviced and roadworthy

  • Defective equipment is removed from service

 

8. Accident Reporting & Investigation

We will:

  • Record incidents in the accident book

  • Investigate causes

  • Implement corrective actions

  • Report RIDDOR incidents where required

 

9. Emergency Procedures

We ensure:

  • Fire safety procedures

  • First aid kits in vehicles and workplaces

  • Lone worker communication procedures

  • Gas emergencies follow Gas Safe protocols

 

10. Monitoring & Review

We will:

  • Review this policy annually

  • Conduct site inspections

  • Monitor safety performance

  • Update procedures as legislation changes

Heygate Heating Solutions is committed to preventing modern slavery, forced labour, and human trafficking in all areas of our operations and supply chain. Although our organisation does not meet the turnover threshold requiring a formal Section 54 Modern Slavery Statement under the Modern Slavery Act 2015, we voluntarily adopt this policy to demonstrate ethical practice and support responsible procurement.

  • Suppliers and service providers

  • Any third parties acting on behalf of Heygate Heating Solutions

 

4. Understanding Modern Slavery

Modern slavery includes:

  • Forced or compulsory labour

  • Debt bondage

  • Child labour

  • Restriction of movement or coercion

  • Exploitation through threats, deception, or abuse of vulnerability

 

5. Supply Chain Standards

We expect all suppliers and subcontractors to:

  • Comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015

  • Operate legally, ethically, and transparently

  • Provide safe working conditions

  • Ensure workers are paid fairly and voluntarily employed

  • Not engage in any form of forced labour or trafficking

Suppliers who fail to meet these standards may be removed from our approved supplier list.

 

6. Due Diligence Measures

  • Monitoring high‑risk categories (e.g., labour‑intensive trades, overseas sourcing)

  • Maintaining clear reporting channels for concerns

Employees, subcontractors, or suppliers can report concerns confidentially to management. We will:

  • Investigate all reports

  • Take appropriate corrective action

  • Notify authorities where required

  • Protect whistleblowers from retaliation

 

8. Training & Awareness

We provide training and guidance to staff and subcontractors on:

  • Recognising signs of modern slavery

  • Reporting procedures

  • Ethical supply chain practices
