Domestic Underfloor Heating

Heygate Heating Solutions was engaged to design and install a complete wet underfloor heating (UFH) system as part of a substantial ground‑floor extension. The client required a modern, energy‑efficient heating solution capable of delivering consistent comfort across a newly created open‑plan living space, while integrating seamlessly with the existing heating infrastructure. The project involved a full end‑to‑end service including heat‑loss calculations, manifold positioning, pipework layout design, and installation of high‑performance insulation and screed preparation. Due to the size of the extension, careful zoning and flow balancing were essential to ensure even heat distribution and rapid response times. Our engineers installed a multi‑loop UFH system using oxygen‑barrier pipework, fixed to insulation panels with perimeter expansion edging to accommodate thermal movement. A centrally located manifold was installed to optimise pipe runs and simplify future maintenance. The system was connected to the property’s primary heat source via a dedicated blending valve and pump set, ensuring correct flow temperatures and full compatibility with both traditional boilers and renewable heat pump systems. Throughout the project, Heygate Heating Solutions maintained strict quality and safety standards, coordinating closely with builders and screeders to ensure correct installation sequencing and curing times. The final system provides the client with a highly efficient, low‑temperature heating solution that enhances comfort, reduces running costs, and future‑proofs the property for modern heating technologies.
